I have had a great time every time I've hunted with B and D. I have not killed every time , but that has not taken away from hunt experience.

Mother nature didn't cooperate on the archery antelope hunt.

1st antelope hunt was a hugh success

Hunt was on private land and there were many, many antelope to choose from. Outfitter put us up in the Holiday Inn which is also where we ate. Guide was knowledgeable and also helpful in dressing out my antelope. Very friendly and easy going. Just an overall great time.

Well, if you can call it a dislike, my 3 day hunt was over by lunchtime on day 1. I had such a good time, I was sorry it was over so soon.

As an avid 60 year old hunter who has been blessed to hunt throughout the US, Canada, Newfoundland and New Zealand from low budget hunts for upland birds, Javelina and hogs to high end hunts for Elk, Moose and Red Stag, I have to say that Dark Horn Outfitters has been my only bad experience, and it was horrific!. From the very beginning there was a lack of communication, only a few questions in each email were answered and after putting the pieces of the puzzle together later, it became obvious that his answers were selective in order to keep us coming. Unknown to us his Pronghorn hunting areas received record breaking rainfall throughout the Spring and Summer which drastically limited the chances to harvest an Antelope from a ground blind over a water hole with a bow. Even if the Pronghorn came in to water, shot distances were 45-70 yds., when we were told to be prepared for an opportunity of 25-40 yds. An ethical and professional Outfitter would have shared these conditions with his hunters and allowed them the choice to take a chance, to apply the deposit towards another hunt with him when conditions were not extreme, or even forfeit the deposit all together. We were not told of these conditions until after our arrival. For the 1st 2 days of a 4 day hunt, my hunting partners and I sat for 15 hours each day, the 3rd day for 13 hours and after a total fiasco with the ranch owner driving between one of my hunting partner's groundblind and 5 Pronghorn working their way in on an ATV, we called it quits at 10 hours on the 4th day. There was not one shot opportunity the entire 53 hours of 3 different hunters hunting from 3 different locations. To sum things up, this Outfitter had an obligation to either warn us of the extreme conditions and give us the opportunity to rebook or at the least come up with a different game plan. Extreme conditions mean that extreme measures should have been put in place. For example: The bucks were breaking off their bachelor groups and becoming territorial, a decoy would have worked miracles. When I mentioned this to the Brad, he laughed and said there were no decoys to be purchased anywhere.....Shouldn't this have been in his arsenal? Bottom line, the year of excitement, dreams and preparation came to an abrupt and hellish end because this Outfitter made the choice of taking advantage of all 12 fellow hunters that placed their trust in him this year.

There was 3 hunters in our group , and two of the hunters was placed on water holes with no antelope tracks or sign ! One of the two blinds was put up that same day, without giving the antelope time to adjust to the new set up ! And also the said blind was facing downwards which was very uncomfortable and the view was only the edge of the water , so no option to glass the area at ANY DISTANCE was available to watch for any antelope approaching!! The hunter had to move the blind himself to a better location that was comfortable and had a better view !! Not a lot of thought was given for a bowhunter !! That he told us ahead of time (once we arrived) about the abundance of rain they had been getting , which was gonna make hunting water holes impossible…

He didn’t give us the option to use our deposit to return the following year for our hunt. We drove a long ways, missed work and had expenses that we would’ve gladly given up to return the next year had we had an option…..

No sightings of elk for entire trip. Only 7000 acres. No accommodations...stayed in hotel and ate at local restaurants. Hunts seemed to end early. Guide was a nice fellow but seemed as if he didn't really want to be there.

Great location, accommodating landowner. Brad’s a friendly, hospitable, and effective hunter. Got my first pronghorn; may not be my last! Good people!

The whole experience!

Great Experience

My experience with Brad was excellent. He answered every question I had prior to the trip and was always available during the hunt and open to making adjustments based on conditions. Due to the wet conditions in the prior weeks, hunting from the blind was not effective so he assisted with driving/stalking opportunities as well as allowed me to stalk on foot exploring the area. Although we didn't get a shot from the blind they were new, roomy and well placed from my position. I was able to effectively get within 70 yards of nice bucks which was success for me.

As with all hunts I desired to harvest an animal but conditions are not always in your favor and not in the control of the outfitter.

This was my first guided elk hunt and they were extremely courteous and very knowledgeable on the ranch. We didn’t see anything the 1st day but made up for it on the second day!

If there was anything bad it was that it was over too fast and I was wanting a 300 plus but I wasn’t going to turn down a 280 class. Guess I will have to go back for the bigger one
