About hunting in South America
South America is the world’s most popular hunting destination for foreign sportsmen and women, with more than 20,000 hunters visiting annually. The majority of them come to experience South America’s legendary bird shooting. But South America is the best of both worlds for a hunter, offering outstanding big-game hunting as well as world-class bird shooting. Ducks, geese, pigeons, and perdiz (partridge) draw hunters to bird-hunting meccas like Argentina and Uruguay, but it’s the doves, estimated in the hundreds of millions, that have made this region famous. Doves and pigeons are considered agricultural pests in some countries and can be shot year-round. A South American dove hunt is an unforgettable experience and one that should be on every serious hunter’s wish list. South America is also known for its red stag hunting. Red stags were released into the Patagonia region of Argentina about 100 years ago, and they have thrived. There are many other free-range introduced species to hunt, including wild boar, water buffalo, blackbuck antelope, and fallow deer. In addition, in some countries you can hunt some of South America’s native species, such as capybara, collared peccary, brocket deer, and puma.

High Volume Dove Shooting - La Zenaida Argentina
The lodge has around 25 shooting fields which are at walking distance within our own property, or at a short drive through the region’s rich farmland. An average hunter may expect to shoot between 2 to 4 cases a day, and there is No Bag Limit! In the field you will be assigned a bird-boy who will provide you with shot shells and refreshments, direct you to your shooting blind and help you load your gun. They have radio communication and can solve problems rapidly. Wake up call is generally around 7,30am and the shooting begins after a hearty breakfast. You will shoot until noon when you will be treated to an incredible lunch at the lodge. Afternoon shoot begins at around 2:30 and continues until almost dark. With the shooting fields at walking distance from the lodge, dove shooting will never be the same! You will shoot more and travel less!

Dove Shoot Uruguay Uruguay
Those who have been shooting doves in Uruguay over the past twenty years will say there is nothing like this in the world. You will be shocked to see the huge black cloud moving towards you over the horizon when you see that it is millions and millions of doves. Thanks to the enormous population (estimated to be well above the 20 million, the supply of crops and the right weather conditions, enable this bird to reproduce 8 times its number over 12 month), hunters can expect to shoot anywhere from 1000 to 2000 shots. We guarantee that whatever your level of shooting is, this will be one of the best shooting trips in your life! Sample Schedule: Day 1: Leave USA on an overnight flight to Montevideo. Day 2: Upon arrival you will be met by a member of our staff, who will assist you with gun clearance and hunting permits. After all is cleared and set, you will be transferred to the Ranch via charter or van, for your afternoon shoot. (Some of our guests prefer to arrive one day early, so they visit the capital city Montevideo. These clients usually enjoy a leisure lunch at the famous "Mercado del Puerto", a nice walk around the old town, city tour or shopping for Uruguayan typical gifts.) Day 3: After a hearty breakfast, you will drive out for the first Dove shoot. Lunch time can vary, on some days you will be going back to the Estancia for drinks and a lovely lunch; on others days you will have a famous asado out on the fields tasting Alberto´s renowned T-bone steaks, or you might be taken to enjoy a typical restaurant in a country village. Like in the morning afternoons will be full of action with Dove shooting. As sun sets you will return to the Ranch, to enjoy drinks and a exquisite meal. Day 4, 5 and 6: As above. Day 7: Morning last dove shoot. Early snack. Departure to airport for flight home. Assistance with check-in and presentation of gun permits.
